Dear You,
I have this tendency, maybe you do too,to see the lesson in everything.
If something happens, there’s a lesson.
If it doesn’t happen? Yep, still a lesson.
Here’s one of mine:
Back in February, I rented an apartment. When I first stepped inside, I thought, this is it. The view was breathtaking ...all that sea and sky and possibility. It felt like a fresh chapter.
But here’s the thing: the apartment itself didn’t feel right. Not really. There was a strange tension in the space. A heaviness. I brushed it off, thinking, it just needs some furniture… a little love… it’ll be fine.
So I signed the lease. I told myself I’d build a home here. This was a place to put my roots for a year.
Seven weeks later, the landlord told me she was moving back in.
And just like that, I was packing up. Again.
As a former realtor, I was stunned. Legally, there wasn’t much I could do. Emotionally, I could’ve fought. Some people asked, Why didn’t you push back? Stand your ground?
But here’s the truth:
I didn’t want to waste my energy trying to hold onto something that never truly felt like mine.
So I let it go.
And the lesson?
Trust your gut.
Always.
Ask yourself how it feels and not just how it looks.
And slow down enough to really listen.
Have you ever had a moment where you overrode your gut… and now you know better? I’d love to hear, if you feel like sharing.
Still here,
Carolyn
PS: I read every reply. No team, no automation just me.
PSS: If this landed with you, it helps so much if you tap the little❤️. And if someone you love needs the reminder, feel free to pass it on.

Learning to let go has been a process and one I now love. Great article!
Little by little I’m learning how to trust my gut instinct more as opposed to just brushing it off as overthinking. What a difference that has made…and boy do I learn the lesson when I’m being stubborn and fall back into my old pattern of blatant acceptance. I try to remind myself that it doesn’t need to make sense to everyone else… It just needs to make sense to me. A little stronger each day…
