Our Gut is our radar

Sometimes we just don't listen to ourselves.

Sometimes we just don’t listen to our message[s].You know, the one that lingers in your head. The voice that says turn left and you intentionally turn right.

Recently I spoke with a fellow entrepreneur who ran her business for eleven years. There were highs in her operation and sadly, far too many lows. Eleven years is a long time to keep pushing that rock up the hill.

Dare I say that running a business is not for the weak at heart.

Sadly, we tend to judge ourselves very harshly as business owners. Did I do this correctly should I have turned left and not right? Should I have made this CHANGE or that one?

Okay, Okay, Okay, do I hear an AMEN from the crowd?

And

It takes courage to see the reality of your operation and to make the bold decision to call it quits. [been there,done that] It takes courage to make a CHANGE. After all, we entrepreneurs put our heart and soul to our vision.

During our conversation she revealed “the many balls bouncing around in her head”. Balls of ideas and inspiration, pieces that she could not put together. This is what happens when you push too hard [another been there, done that]

And

When she closed the door on that chapter of her life she took a breather. Friends encouraged her to join them in a distant city. With nothing holding her back she ventured into the unknown. With a relaxed mind, soul and body she was able to see other possibilities for her new life.

And

Then suddenly without “warning” the pieces of her puzzle came together. The CHANGE enabled her future to be revealed. Opportunities presented themselves,voids were filled and she met her future husband! Finally the bounding balls had meaning.

And…. then she also realized

‼ If I had understood that I am good enough, that would have reduced the pain for sure, toward the judgment of myself. I would not judge myself so much. The process would have been easier and faster ‼

CHANGE comes in all shapes and sizes. It, CHANGE always starts with how we speak to ourselves and then we just have to take the first step.
