Dear You,
Miss Evie has once again reminded me that life has its own timeline.
You might remember—some time ago—she believed she could fly. That leap landed her in surgery, seven pins and a metal rod later.
Yesterday, she tried to catch a fly. In a burst of joy, she sprang into action… and sprained her other front paw. Nothing serious. Just enough to stop us both in our tracks and cancel the plans I had so neatly laid out.
Today’s adventure: not the one I had planned.
I suppose that’s the point.
Sometimes, life insists we pause.
And when that happens, I still hear her—The Pusher.
She believes momentum is safety. That stillness is failure. That rest is dangerous.
But another voice is growing louder now.
The Trusting One.
She knows timing can’t be forced. She believes detours carry their own kind of wisdom. She’s learning to let life unfold.
This is where I’m listening from today.
You too?
Still here,
Carolyn
