How to Hear Your Own Voice
A reminder that your path, your choices, and your life belong to you.
Dear You,
How do you hear your own voice?
This past week I have discussed how vitally important it is to walk your own path, make your own choices, and decisions.
More importantly, what is at risk if you hand your life’s decisions over to someone else.
This poses the question…
How do I hear my own voice and the wants, needs, and desires that are exquisitely mine?
First step: Stillness. Silence. Pausing. Taking a moment to recognize what is important to you.
In my writings here on Substack, I speak about the journey I’ve taken leaving the USA, all that has entailed, and the lessons that cross my path every day. Adventurizing, as I call it, is very important to me. New places, tastes, experiences: these are the things that light me up. BUT this is me, Carolyn Chebaro. These are my wants, needs, and desires. These are the actions that fill my cup.
But you are not me and this is the exciting part. You get to set your own course, your own path, your own journey in the life YOU have been given.
It’s like deciding to take a road trip. You need to know where you are heading in order to get there. You need to know your destination, and you have to “see” yourself there before your journey begins.
You need, in your way, to take note of what is important to you whether it be pen and paper or a voice note. You have to start somewhere.
Second step: See and feel yourself on your path before you physically put one foot in front of the other.
This is when your imagination kicks in. The images, the video, the television program you create in your mind is exclusive to YOU, only YOU. My channel is different and that is the beauty of life. We are all different, but at the end of the day, all the same [topic for another conversation].
You must TRUST your ability to create the life you dream of, warts and all. You must believe. Period.
You decide. You make a decision.
The remaining steps well, they are just the physical. The outside procedures. Actions.
