Doing Less, Enjoying More
What if joy doesn’t come from more, but from less?
Dear You,
We’ve been told all our lives that success equals doing more.
More hours. More effort. More roles to juggle.
More sweat, blood,and tears.
For me, this was working seven days a week and putting in 12 hour days. Reaching for my phone first thing, while laying in bed, and logging into my email accounts. [ yes I said accounts because you cannot have enough noise in your life, sad but true]
But what if the truest form of success is actually found in doing less?
What if true, honest to goodness success was savoring life more. What if the meaning of our lives was to live with more passion, more presence.Tasting, feeling, smelling, seeing more of this life we have been given.
Now… understand, in my world…
Doing less doesn’t mean giving up.
It means giving yourself back to yourself.
I hear this longing again and again from women: “I just want to be doing less and enjoying more.”
The hidden truth is, when your life is packed with tasks, noise, and expectations, there is little space for joy. You’re always one step ahead of yourself, rushing to the next thing.
Never focusing on the task at hand.
But when you slow down, when you allow yourself to breathe well that is when a certain kind of miracle occurs… something really shifts in your world. You stop existing and start living. You rediscover the “inner me” that’s been buried under the go, go, go life you created
Maybe success was never about adding more at all.
Maybe success is joy. Maybe it’s presence. Maybe it’s that moment of laughter when you feel most like you.
That’s the invitation I’m sitting with today.
